Nutri-Score creator speaks out | Synbiotics to address ASD symptoms | IIFH looks to create “healthier lives”

In last week’s nutrition industry news, the creator of the Nutri-Score accused the incumbent Italian government of “gastro-populism” due to the country’s proposed changes to the labeling system.

Meanwhile, a study supported by Sun Genomics found that personalized synbiotics could help alleviate some symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We spoke with the Innovation Institute for Food and Health (IIFH) on creating healthier lives through “use-inspired” research.

We spoke with experts from Vitafoods Europe, Inewtrition and NCNC Nutrition Consultancy about how technology is changing the industry and looked at Clasado Biosciences’ plans to launch a synbiotic water range at the upcoming trade show.

Ingredients by Nature spotlighted citrus flavonoids for prediabetes and healthy aging support and we looked at how nutricosmetics are evolving beyond skin and beauty applications.

Also, NXT USA’s Digexin extract blend was found to improve mood and digestive health and a recent study review supported the efficacy of psilocybin for depression but said more research is needed.
